September 2014 Ride News

As there are several away rides and events coming up in the next month I thought it might be usefull to collect all of the information into one post.

Saturday 30th August

Lune Valley to Morecambe with a café stop. Duration approx. 3 hours.

Meet: at Bull Beck Car Park for 10.30am ride start.

Directions and Location: M6 to J34. Take A683 East towards and through Caton village. Bull Beck car park is on the RHS approximately one kilometre East of the village of Caton.

Ride is approx. 20 miles, generally flat, mainly off road along River Lune cycleway, Canal towpath and Morecambe seafront. Mountain Bikes/Hybrids/CX bikes are fine.

Monday 1st September

Ribble Valley Juniors club meeting at 7pm at Bamber Bridge Catholic Club PR5 6TA.

Much delayed and postponed meeting. Agenda includes-New members/Hoghton CycloX/ Tour of Britain +Sky Ride/BMX/Lewis ride +items from members/followed by discussion of Galloway details. Sorry about the short notice. Hope you can make it especially Galloway Riders.

Saturday 6th September

No ride from school as many of the available members will be attending the first round of the NWCCA Cyclocross league at Hoghton Tower.

Sunday 7th September

The Tour of Britain starts in Liverpool and there is also a city Skyride taking place. Although probably not an official club event it is likely that several members will be attending, keep an eye on your email for details.

Saturday 13th September

Another cyclocross coaching session has been arranged on the school field. All welcome and MTBs will be fine.

Sunday 14th September

Round two of the NWCCA league at Bolton. Normally quite an open and relatively flat course, however it was very wet last year.

Friday 19th – Sunday 21st September

Club trip to the Galloway Activity Centre. For those that have booked please make sure that any money still owed is paid as soon as possible. Also if you have any special dietary needs then please make these known to Simon Morris or another committee member.

Sunday 28th September

The Lewis Balyckyi Ride. The club will again be marshalling the family ride, as well as groups of club riders doing the longer distances.
