TravelerAs a British Cycling Go-Ride club Ribble Valley Juniors has several British Cycling qualified coaches.

During the summer months we hold:

Learn to Ride and Basic Skills (“Wobbly-Wednesdays”)

Wednesdays a learn to ride and beginners coaching session 6:00-7:00pm at Walton-le-Dale Primary School.  From 3 May to 28 June 2023 (if there is no demand we will shorten the duration).

Wednesday’s take a child, usually 3 upwards, from zero to balance bike then to riding with pedals, using brakes, cornering, and other general cycle skills.   Riders can then progress to our Monday sessions.

Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced Skills (Mondays)

Mondays cater for riders wanting to better control their bike and starts with a beginners group who will develop the basics of positioning, gears, brakes, and cornering.  Riders then progress to intermediate skills where group riding is introduced and then through to advanced which is faster paced and designed to build skills for general riding and competition riding.

Monday Evenings are at Preston UCLAN Sports Arena 6:30 pm — 8:30 pm. This session is also open to members of other local clubs, including Bolton Hot Wheels, Red Rose Olympic, Cycle Sport Pendle.

Monday Evening coaching runs from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm from April through to the end of August. The evening will be split into two sessions.

TravelerDuring the first hour introductory skills sessions will be run on the Start/Finish straight for beginners and those wanting an introduction to racing skills. An Intermediate group will work on developing specific Road and Time Trial skills.

The second hour will focus on Advanced Road and Time Trial skills with coaches working with smaller ability based groups. Coaching will be led by Qualified and DBS cleared British Cycling Coaches.

•  Every Monday from 17 April 2022 to 21 August 2022 (except bank holidays)
•  Ages 5 — 17.
•  All riders must wear a helmet.
•  All bikes must be in safe working order.
