Cycling Award for Young Volunteers Workshop – Manchester
For any enthusiastic young volunteers wanting to join the National Young Volunteers programme, BC have organised a Cycling Award for Young Volunteer (CAYV) Workshop to take place on Monday 10th August at the National Cycling Centre, Manchester, between 10-4pm.
This will be delivered by Manchester’s Go-Ride Coach Joe Malik and Kelly Burdett. You can book a place on the course using our new online booking system, simply click through and complete the parental consent and registration form to book.
Young volunteers should be:
- Keen to learn and contribute
- 14+ yrs

Time trial Session with Ribble Valley CRC
Advance notice:Plans are hurriedly being made with RVCRC for a 2hour session at UCLAN probably on a Saturday later this month to learn more of and try out the skills involved in Time Trialling. Suitable for all riders including adults.
Velodrome Cluster Session
Our next Cluster Track session, 9/8/15 is on line now and numbers are a bit low in all groups hence a great opportunity.Details at:
This will be opened up to other clusters to fill places soon.
For those riders that are in the experienced group and are ready for accreditation there is a pre-accreditation session on 26/7/15.Riders will practice the techniques needed for NCC accreditation.
There are two groups, 9-12 and 13-16. Please let Tom Leivers know if you wish to participate:

Dufton YHA Weekend
A quick update on Dufton: the final balance and meals money is due to be paid by the 14th August, but I am on holiday in a couple of weeks and need to pay before I go. The current list of attendees is as follows :

- Ind x 3;
- Ryley x 3;
- Colling x 4;
- Cox x 2;
- Endersby x4;
- Purcell x 2;
- Aitchison x 3.
We currently have 26 people who are confirmed, the YHA can accommodate 34, therefore we have 8 spaces left to be filled. If you are interested then please let me know, and let me have £40 per adult. For those of you on the list above who have not paid the £40 yet, (you know who you are!!), could you please try and get this to me by Monday 20th July.
Towards the end of August / Early September a few of the club members will be going up to Dufton to do a recce of some routes, so if anyone would like to be involved with that then please contact Simon Morris.
Ribble Valley Juniors Kit
Sizing Kit has arrived in a range of sizes for adults and young riders. It has been loaned to try for a limited period and will be available after Saturday rides on 18th and 25th July and onTuesday evening 21st July. Remember if you don’t claim your points by filling in the form and giving it to Joe then they won’t be awarded. Full details were in a previous round up.

Hell of the North:
Did you know that RVJ parent member Ian Wright successfully completed the Paris Roubaix sportive this year on the same cobbles feared by the Tour Pros? And he now wants to go again. Chapeaux!
Steve Cox and Chris Endersby are currently amongst thousands of European Cyclists getting ready to ride a stage of the Tour de France this weekend. Good luck guys and watch out Froomey.
