News Round Up – 01/07/2015

Wow half the year gone and plenty more to fit in…

We have had another month of Tuesdays at UCLAN including a successful race evening, rides up Darwen Tower, along the Lune Valley, several Sunday rides with RVRCC, a soggy Leyland Festival and an award as ‘Community Sports Club of the Year’ from South Ribble BC.

Kit:

We are probably moving to a new more versatile kit supplier with a wider range. Various members have emailed their future requirements. Subject to approval at the next meeting (see below) we will arrange a ‘try for size event’ and then ask for firm orders. These will take a quoted 6 weeks to arrive.

Hoodies:

To make a viable order we need to order 10 items. Anyone
interested please email your requirements to sec@rvjuniors.co.uk with the title ‘ RVJ HOODIES’. Even if you have already done something similar!

Meeting:

To ratify kit details, costs and discounts for members etc. Monday 6/7/2015, 7pm at Bamber Bridge Catholic Club.

Notice from BC coaching Team:Madison Training:

Go-Ride track cluster programme, Sunday 30th August (12-3pm). Any suitable riders interested please register interest: email coaching@britishcycling.org for the attention of Megan.‘All riders need to be indoor track accredited and 14 years of age or above as a minimum requirement.  The riders should ideally have raced track outdoors, but not done Madison, would like to have a go and would be confident on the track and with the technique. Whether they are juniors or seniors doesn’t matter as long as they’re of the same ability then it’s more than fine, and we’ll pair them up on the day.
