Aimed at giving an introduction to various aspects of cyclocross, subjects will include;
- Dismount and remount
- Carrying and shouldering the bike
- Race format / Tactics
Following on from this starting on Tuesday 9th September for at least 6 weeks we will hold an evening practice session.
Introduction to Cyclocross
Cyclocross really is an accessible form of racing that most members young and old can have a go at, and in most cases the bike you use for our Saturday morning rides is perfectly adequate for giving it a try.
The aim of this session will be to give participants an idea of what is involved in cyclocross. Starting at 10am we will run through a few fundamental skills, then finish off with a short race for everyone. Aiming to finish between 12.30 and 1pm.
All club members are encouraged to have a go, both the young members and their parents.
We have arranged to borrow a small number of cyclocross bikes for this session from British Cycling, they will all be small frame sizes with 700c wheels, priority will be given to junior members but otherwise will be on a first come basis to club members. If you would like one then please email firstname.lastname@example.org However please also bring your own bike as we may need to share them around.
